TALKING AND SINGING (24 MONTHS, 1 WK)

S has been using the words "I, my, and mine" (more) correctly. Lately, momma has been hearing alot of "mine," especially since momma has been taking care of Tess (on Tuesdays) and Talia (on Wednesdays). There's also been three to four word sentences. Her most recent one is "I like popsicle," ever since momma gives her a popsicle after dinner when we walk to the mail box together. Sometimes, it is prefaced with "I want yellow one."

S is also singing better. She actually sounds like she's singing versus saying the words and she can sing most or all of the verses. Momma and daddy noticed this within the last month or two. Maybe, it coincided with taking music classes from Heartsong Music. But, S often sings "Five Little Monkies Jumping on the Bed," but she revises it to one monkey, since she's the only one on the bed jumping. She also sings "Jack Be Nimble," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," and "Ring Around the Posey."

Momma and daddy thinks S is so amazing!

NEW HAIRCUT (24 MONTHS)

After S's birthday party, momma took S for a haircut. Her hair gets sticky and yucky when she's sweaty and since we're in Texas, summer means sweating. Now, S has a cute little bob. And, where here hair was plastered onto her back, the excema has cleared up. Yeah!

2 YEAR BIRTHDAY PARTY (2 YRS!)

S's 2nd birthday party was a great success. All her friends from her playgroup was there! Plus, we were happily surprised by Aunt Cindy Lou stopping by. The kiddos had fun playing with the dolphin and swimming in the pool. S's favorite part was eating three cupcakes.

RAMBUCTIOUS MAEGAN (22 MONTHS)

This is an old story that happened around 22 months. Background: If S could say who her favorite friend was she would say it was Maegan. But sometime after 18 months, S had a hard time dealing with M's ramunctiousness and high-spiritedness. Every time M came to hug S it was more like a body slam. After awhile, everytime M came within a couple feet of S, she would cry out. In defense, M isn't mean-spirted, but often she's just more physical than her toddler friends are.

One night, while putting S to bed, S said, "M hit S." Momma was taken by surprised and responded with: "Yes, M hits S. Does S hit M?" There was a long pause and S responded with "Yes."

Ever since, S has been getting along better with M. Momma isn't sure if this conversation helped, but it was very hard not to laugh during this "heartfelt" exchange.
