SIGNING (14 MONTHS)

"S" has been able to communicate well through signing. She can ask for help or ask for things around the house or her toys. She gets excited whenever she sees an animal and is quick to point them out, signing "cat," "dog," and "bird." She can ask for a drink, ask for food, or say "all done." Amazingly, she started putting together simple ideas and sentences. She heard daddy in the shower and signed "daddy" and "bath" together.

Being able to communicate means less crying and frustration for her. For daddy and momma, signing means a happier child. All are happy that signing has helped so much.

DADDY'S KISS

Daddy received his first unprompted kiss this morning. "S" stood up from momma's lap and walked over to daddy and kissed him on the forehead. Daddy was surprised, but trully pleased!

SLIDING (13 MONTHS 3 WEEKS)

"S" has recently just learned to slide at the playgrounds. Daddy and momma use to hold her while sliding or slide down with her, but she recently started doing it by herself. One day, she just walked to the slide, sat down, and slide down by herself before momma could react.

Here's a video of "S" sliding down a ramp(courtesty of her Aunt): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pn0c6M480M
The video will be available for playing for approx 6 months; it will be deleted by the end of the year.

BYE BYE DADDY!

Typically every morning, momma and "S" go to the park. This morning, "S" stands in the doorway, watching a car backing out of the neighbor's driveway. Then, she starts waving and saying, "Bye-bye daddy! Bye-bye daddy!" And, when she gets no response from the car, she starts shouting, "Daddy, Daddy..." "S" is becoming a Daddy's Girl. She lights up every time he comes into the room now.

PS. S' recent weight: 21 1/2 lbs.

MICHIGAN (13 MONTHS, 2 WEEKS)

"S" spent four days (3 nights) with Mimi and Poppy over the 4th of July weekend while momma and daddy were in Michigan for a wedding. "S" had a great time playing around with Mimi and Poppy, petting the bear (statue) in the back yard, and racking around her pink car. The greatest part was she had no problems taking naps or sleeping through the night. ...

Well, maybe, the greatest part was momma and daddy having time to themselves.
