WHOOPING COUGH (3 1/2 YRS OLD)

S's preschool has seven cases of confirmed whooping cough: 3 found during the week of Thanksgiving and 3 found last week. Momma and daddy have taken the precaution of having S take antibiotics and tested when the fist cases were discovered, but have not done anything that drastic with the second cases. The antibiotics are suppose to last for awhile even though they are already finished with. Momma hopes with the second cases of whooping cough that more parents will get their children immunized or leave the kids at home when sick.

Speaking of sick, S has missed four days of school (approximately three weeks) this semester due to being sick. Momma thinks most of her illness has been preschool related. Since previously, she had only been sick 5 times in the past 3 years.

FAVORITE FUNNY SAYINGS (3 1/2 MONTH)

Momma guesses that she's officially entered the THREEs. It wasn't the tantrums or the cry of independence, a.k.a "I can do it." It's the fact that S's favorite phrases are "poopy!" and "stinky!" These two phrases are often followed with a laugh or giggles. For some odd reason, she find them hilarious. Momma can't wait till S discovers slap-stick comedy.

MONSTERS (3 1/2 YRS OLD)

S has started to play make-believe monsters. Sometimes, she hides from them and sometimes, she's pretending to be one. They fascinate her. Monsters help her explore the concept of fear in a safe defined boundary. Although, sometimes, in her make believe games, she scares herself.

AUNT CINDY (3 1/2 YRS OLD)

Aunt Cindy's birthday was Thursday. S was singing Happy Birthday to Aunt Cindy all day. When finally, momma called her to wish her a Happy Birthday, S refused to do anything but whisper "Happy Birthday."

BTW, Aunt Cindy is a close friend of momma and daddy. But, if you ask S, she says Aunt Cindy is daddy's sister. Momma thinks that's the best compliment of all... for S to think Aunt Cindy is part of the family.

THANKSGIVING AT THE SAND DUNES (3 1/2 YRS OLD)

Thanksgiving weekend was spent at Monahan Sand Dunes. Momma thinks this is probably the best family vacation yet because Aunt Cindy got to come join in the fun. S, daddy, momma, and Aunt Cindy had a great time sliding down dunes in their disc. Surprisingly, S kept up with the adults pretty well and didn't complain about climbing up the sand dunes. The first day was spent getting aquainted with sliding on the sand dunes and everyone took it easy with some small dunes. On the second day, everyone wanted to conquer the biggest dune. With some help, S climbed up it several times and even rode down it once. S probably had the most fun, just playing in the fine soft sand.

Momma, daddy, S, and Aunt Cindy thinks this will make a wonderful Thanksgiving tradition.

P.S. No pictures because the camera got lost somewhere in the dunes.

THANKSGIVING TURKEY TROT (3 1/2 YRS OLD)

What an exciting Thanksgiving morning! S and momma kicked it off by going to the Turkey Trot while daddy stayed home to pack. S did both the Kid's K with momma and the 1 mile with the Stewart family. The 1 mile was treat because her BFF Talia was there and they both got to roll down the steep hill by the capital. The kiddies filled up on cookies and juice and got to make their own sand bracelet. S was pretty tired by lunchtime and momma was so proud of her for walking the Kids K and participating in the 1 miler.

After the Turkey Trot, everyone met at Katz for Thanksgiving lunch. What a wonderful way to kick off Thanksgiving!
