SWIM LIKE A FROG (24 MONTHS, 3 WKS)

S's favorite thing to do lately, besides cook in her play kitchen, is swim. If momma or daddy mention the word pool, she says "put swimsuit on" and gets ready. Recently, daddy got S some arm floaties (per Poppy's sugestion). Now, she likes the pool even more since the floaties keep her head up better.

DADDY'S HOME (24 MONTHS, 2 WKS)

Daddy came home from his business trip today. S was ecstatic to see him. The first thing she did was jump in his lap and stayed there, until bath time and then she had daddy give her a bath, too.

Yeah! all around for Daddy's home!

MATTHEW & LILLIAN LIVE HERE (24 MONTHS, 2 WKS)

While daddy was in Spain, momma and S were visiting Auntie T and her cousins Matthew and Lillian (5 days, 4 nights). S was so excited to visit her cousins that she wanted to leave the night before, not the next morning. S had a great time playing with M and L, mostly following them around the house. They spent the week playing cars, legos, baby-dolls, swimming, and jumping up and down.

Momma's favorite S's expression from the trip is "Matthew and Lillian live here" whenever Auntie T or momma drove the car home.

ICE CREAM (24 MONTHS, 2 WKS)

S had her first taste of ice cream (vanilla) today at her friend Milam birthday party. She enjoyed it, but with every bite, she would say "cold" and shiver. She didn't finish her serving, but now, she knows what ice cream is.

BTW, she also likes cake. She couldn't wait for her slice of Milam's birthday cake (which had a great picture of Milam driving a fire truck). Momma had a hard time keeping her seated until S was served.

DADDY'S GIRL (24 MONTHS, 2 WKS)

S has become more of a daddy's girl. She often ask him to carry her and sometimes prefers him over momma. Momma thinks it's because S realizes daddy's time is all about playing while momma time is about setting limits and picking up. Whatever the reason, S is becoming a daddy's girl.

P.S. When daddy left for his business trip, S cried and kept asking for daddy.

POTTY REGRESSION (24 MONTHS)

S use of the potty has regressed. She has had alot of accidents since coming home from Mimi and Poppy. (Mimi and Poppy had her in pull-ups instead of panties.) S is also too busy to stop her play and sit in the potty. Momma and daddy have to some retraining to do...and Momma is finding it harder now that S is too busy to pay attention.

BTW, S had a great time with Mimi and Poppy. She got to visit the bear every day and make fried eggs (pretend eggs) in her play kitchen. Momma and daddy got some alone time in Vegas and they thought re-potty training was worth the price to pay for some alone time.

HELP ME; I'M STUCK (24 MONTHS)

For the past two weeks, S favorite exclamation has been "Help me; I'm stuck!" She uses it when she wants out of her high chair, can't get on her panties, and can't navigate a corner with her shopping cart.

Momma tries to play the "unstuck" game with her whenever she cries out "Help me; I'm stuck." Momma cries out "unstuck" whenever S figures out how to get out of her tricky situation(s). Crying out "unstuck" gives S the giggles. It also gives momma the giggles too.

DR SEUSS (24 MONTHS)

S has become a huge fan of Dr. Seuss books. Momma and daddy started reading them to her around 20 months. We first read Dr. Seauss' "ABC," and she would walk around the house saying "G, G, G, Girls, Goat, Goo-goo Goggles." Then we moved on to "One Fish, Two Fish," "The Cat In the Hat," and "Hop on Pop." We read them so often that she has memorized some of the verses. Now, S is enjoying "Green Eggs and Ham."

BTW, S can recite the numbers: one to twenty now. Around twelve to fifteen, the numbers get a little mixed up. She also knows what "two" means (maybe, even three) because she often counts two objects or tell us she has two things.
