FIRST STEP (APRIL 5, 2007)

"S" took her first step today. She was cruising around the couch when daddy sat down near it. "S" heard the sound of his voice, turned to look at him and took one step towards him before going ka-plunk onto the floor.

Later, she did it again several times... tiring herself out. Daddy held her up and she would take one or two steps toward mama before going ka-plunk on the floor. We cheered and clapped every time she tried to stand up and take a step.

Wow... this is amazing day! The best thing was that daddy got a chance to share one of S's firsts and was the person that she took her first step towards.

STANDING UP

"S" started standing up on her own. It's the coolest thing to watch. She will pull herself up to standing position either using the coffee table, the couch or mama (actually anthing). Then, she will let go, throw her hand in the air, and stay there for several seconds before sitting down or collapsing down again.

Whenever she does this mama and daddy cheer and "S" smiles really big! Lately, she has been trying to get into standing position from sitting. She gets up as far as her knees before sitting down or collapsing down again.

First attempt: March 20th.

NASTY STOMACH VIRUS (45th WEEK)

"S" started getting diahrea on Thursday. Mama thought it was because she was teething but the diahrea continued for six more days. "S" was grumpy all day Thursday and only wanted mama when they were visiting Mimi & Poppy. But, when the diahrea continue for another day, mama called the pediatrician. Diagnosis: Stomach virus.

The hardest part was making sure "S" drank enough water and getting enough food. At first, she didn't want to eat or drink anything... and this really worried mama and daddy. Finally, by Saturday, she was eating at least one meal. Thanks to her new favorite food: beans! However, her diahrea remained... By Tuesday, March 3rd, "S" appeared better, eating again, diahrea gone, but still feverish.

GRANDMOTHER VISIT (45th WEEK)

Ba Ngoi ("S" maternal grandmother) came to visit "S" over the weekend. "S" had such a great time with her. BN took her shopping and in general, just had fun! "S" favorite time with her was playing patty cake in BN's lap. The last time Ba Ngoi visited was when she was 4 months old.

DADDY'S TIME (44th WEEK)

Daddy's time is in the morning; he gets her out of bed, changes her diaper, dresses her and gets her breakfast. In between it all, he just has fun with her: bouncing ball, walking the hippo, and just being daddy. If you ask him, he'll say mornings are his favorite times with his little girl.

This week, he taught "S" how to pull apart her stacking stars. Last week, he taught her how to bounce the ball back to daddy. All amazing feats! that she will appreciate one day... & say "Thank you daddy!"
